Jo-Ellen Parry

Jo-Ellen is the Director, Adaptation (Canada) at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). In her role, Jo-Ellen leads IISD’s climate adaptation work in Canada and contributes to its international research and programming. For more than 15 years she has designed and facilitated climate change projects and processes that bring together science, policy, and local experience. She has completed research in areas such as financing adaptation, climate risk management, and community-based natural resources management; and undertaken comparative analysis of adaptation planning efforts in different countries. Her current work strives to build the capacity of communities and governments to integrate adaptation into development processes at the national and community levels.
