Kerra Chomlak

Executive Director

Kerra has over 25 years of experience working on sustainability and climate issues in Alberta from various perspectives. Formerly the Manager of Environment at the City of Leduc, Kerra focused on municipal environmental issues including regional climate resilience projects and creating the city’s first adaptation and mitigation plans. Her previous experience also includes serving as Executive Director at the Clean Air Strategic Alliance in Edmonton, where she learned the value of collaboration and consensus-building between industries, environmental groups, and governments to develop innovative, long-lasting solutions to complex environmental problems.

At ClimateWest, her priority is to advance climate resilience in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba by braiding Western and Indigenous knowledges and building understanding about climate projections, risks, vulnerabilities, costs and opportunities.

Kerra holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Physical Sciences from the University of Alberta and a Master of Arts in Climate Action Leadership from Royal Roads University.

Kerra primarily works from her home office, which is situated in Treaty 6 Territory and in the Métis Homeland. Please feel free to reach out to her with your ideas for building climate resilience across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
