New for 2026!
Choose from three tours covering sustainable architecture, climate-resilient construction, and the role of bison in climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction Resilience Display Centre: This tour highlights practical, cost-effective, consensus-based methods to become resilient to climate related disasters. Using hands-on exhibits, displays, videos, interactive kiosks and other features, the Centre demonstrates resilience to insurance professionals, builders and code officials, homeowners, and others. Tour location: 191 Broadway. (1.5 hrs)
- Sustainability and Architecture Tour at The Leaf: The design process for The Leaf kept sustainability front of mind and uses many features unlike any other in Canada. Travel through The Leaf’s biomes and discover some of the architectural features that make the building so visually stunning, and learn about the many sustainable building options that highlight Assiniboine Park’s commitment to the environment. Tour location: The Leaf, 145 The Leaf Way. (1.5 hrs)
- Bison Bus Tour at FortWhyte Alive: This tour offers a thrilling and immersive journey into the heart of the prairies, where attendees will encounter the majestic bison in their natural habitat. As you board the vintage-style bus, you’ll be guided through grasslands and wetlands, where these iconic creatures roam, embodying the wild spirit of the Canadian prairies. Note: The bus is unable to accommodate wheelchairs; attendees must be able to board the bus independently. Tour location: FortWhyte Alive, Alloway Reception Centre, 1961 McCreary Blvd. (1 hr)
Please note:
- Tour admission is $15 per person plus transaction fee
- Tour admission fees are non-refundable and all proceeds will go towards the programming of the tours.
- Tour availability is subject to a first-come, first-served basis.
- All local tour participants are required to provide their own form of transportation to the tour location. Out of town guests staying at the Holiday Inn Express will be contacted regarding a shuttle transportation service.
