Call for Proposals: Indigenous Engagement Consultant for Climate Ready Prairies Project
ClimateWest is now accepting proposals for an Indigenous Engagement Consultant to support the Climate Ready Prairies project. This initiative aims to overcome social and behavioural barriers to inspire climate adaptation action and investment in the Prairie provinces. ClimateWest is partnering with Re.Climate, Canada’s go-to centre for training, research and strategy on climate change communications and public engagement.
About the Role
The Consultant will play a key role integrating Indigenous knowledges and perspectives in to the development of a communications and engagement guide, and related training series and community of practice. ClimateWest is seeking candidates with extensive knowledge and experience in:
- Indigenous knowledges, cultures and history in the prairies;
- Climate change adaptation;
- Formal engagement with Indigenous communities; and
- Advising non-indigenous organizations.
Contract Details
- Duration: January 2025 to March 2026, with the possibility of extension
- Location: Remote, with travel across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
